Default Is Speeding a crime?

for the EOI, if I've gotten a speeding ticket, does that mean I've been charged (or even found guilty) of a crime?

I'm thinking no, but might as well see what others answered.

I didn't include it on my EOI.

Chris.

Motoring offences dont count, unless you were convicted by a court and served a sentence in jail for it. They would only care if you were a convicted drink driver as opposed to some points for speeding.

(Thats if you have points on your licence like we do in UK!)

Thanks. That's kind of what I figured.

Some states here in the US have a points system. Texas doesn't.

I find it interesting y'all call it a "drink driver", whereas we call it a "drunk driver". The crime is driving while you are "drunk" (adjective) versus while drinking (verb). In other words, y'all talk funny :icon_lol:

Its the legal definition of 'Driving whilst under the influence of drink', where you are not necassarily 'drunk', but none the less your reactions have been affected by a certain level of alchohol in the blood stream.

I see your point though :icon_biggrin:

Taffy, that makes sense. I was just joking around. I'm sure we talk funny from your perspective as well.

Remember, I'm not a native Texan. I may say "y'all", but "might could", "fixin ta" and "all y'all" aren't in my vocabulary. I'm a good midwestern boy at heart.

Actually, here's a good question. When referring to soft drinks, do kiwis call it "pop", "soda," "soda-pop," or "coke"???

I need to start practicing my NZ english. That may tip off the folks at work though, hrm.
