I'm in NZ, looking for a job. Any known companies that hire?

Hey guys,

I've had a good time reading everything on the site. I believe this is my first post, but I've been on here a ton reading.

I graduated with a BS in MIS (aka IT) a year ago. I don't have 5 years experience that they typically want for the shortage list. (my experience in the field is mostly with websites and tech support, 2 years).

I have also worked for 4 years while at University at a call center (AT&T Wireless). I'm sending my CV off to Vodafone and Telecom in hopes that they'll want me.

I don't care about where the company is located. As long as I can get a job offer, and the subsequent work permit. I also don't really mind what field it's in. If I don't find anything my flight back to the states is October 14th (Visa expires Oct 29th).

I'm in Auckland now. I also wouldn't mind Christchurch or Wellington at all.

Hi,
Find companies in your area and knock on doors (or phone !)
Auckland probably has more jobs.
So gives you the best chance.

Thanks Coulliette. It's so wierd, I kind of always wanted to experience a hurricane, then I come over here, and there's 2 within a month. My sister's house had a tree on it from Charley, no major damage. Waiting to see with Frances (but it seems to be weakening which is awesome).

I haven't received the stock response "Thank you for your application, but..." from Telecom or Vodafone yet, so that's promising :icon_razz:
