ALL Living Relatives ?

Okay Okay, What's the deal with what family you need to list on the EOI ?

Is it just immediate family or do you need to trace your family tree. I don't think I know all our living relatives and how do they know if you've missed someone off anyway?
I was planning on putting all immediate family and also aunts, uncles, cousins nieces and nephews. I wasn't going to put down great aunts, 2nd cousins etc

Is that OK ? What did everyone else do?

I think immediate family is plenty for the EOI. Parents, brothers and sisters, children, partner/spouse, and grandparents is fine. You dont really need to go in to cousins, aunts and uncles.

I think the idea behind it is that if someone applies for family sponsorship in the future, if they are not on your list, they cant claim family sponsorship. Its also just a bit of background checking to make sure none of your family are terrorists or something, and that you are who you say you are.

Thats what I think anyway!

Yeh, it does say on the EOI form, parents & brothers & sisters, and siblings.
No dead ones !

But when you look up what the NZIS claim as family it is only immediate family - partner and children. I got confused too and just put the immediate family in. Sent off the EOI this afternoon!! At last. :icon_cool:

The same as us! I think you're right. There's a lot of people who are don't have the job offers or Kiwi contacts that are positive about getting to NZ and trying their hardest. We went on holiday and fell in love with the place and what we saw as a better the way of life. Now the EOI is in we're just waiting and hoping for positive action. Talk about frustrating, or is it me that is just impatient? Good luck one and all.

Yes, it's all very exciting really. I dying to get our EOI form in, but the site's down and won't be up gain till after Sunday by the looks of it. :icon_sad:

I've been to NZ before, but we're going out again in Nov 05, with the big move planned for Spring 06. We thought we'd take advantage of the low pass mark and get our EOI form in early.

Whereabouts are you planning to settle ? We hope to be in the North Shore somewhere, and plan to build our own home. we'll need to find somewhere to rent/buy first though. We'll be checking out the area on our wee visit.
