Default Working Holiday Visa

Okay, I am very sorry if this subject has been addressed somewhere else on the forum (I thought I had read everything!), but I have a question... I noticed that the working holiday visa is only open for people 18-30 years old. I fall into that category, however, my husband is 32. Is there anyway we both can go over, and stay for the same amount of time, or should he secure a job first? There's just too much!! :icon_eek: icon_exclaim.gif

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Coulliette :icon_mrgreen:

Hi Couliette,

If you go on a WHV, then your husband will have to get his own visa, such as a holiday visa. He will not be able to stay the same amount of time as you though. If you are looking at this option, then the only way around it would be for him to go with you on a holiday visa, you secure a good job and apply for a proper work permit, then he can be granted a work permit as your partner (with or without a job) which will entitle him to stay with you for the same length of time.

This is what we plan to do, but its a risk!

It sounds pretty good, though.

So, the plan is WHV, then a Work permit, followed by EOI, this is the way you are doing it? It seems to my situation the best way to go about it. We have no certian needed skills, so I don't think we would fit into the Skilled Migrant category. I guess we will see how it goes :icon_biggrin:

Good Luck!
