Nursery Nurse Diploma/ Pre School Teacher

Hi all

I'm new to this site and what a great site it is. We have been talking about moving to NZ for two years now and were looking at the business route. We find the business we wanted, we had the money, we made contacts and then night we realise we are a bit short due to us not realising that we also need three years worth of money on top of everything else, so annoying as we have a years worth, but it's not enough.

Anyway since then I have made contact with a pre school nursery who would be happy to employ me as long as my diploma is regonised over there. I know I need to contact NZQA but I was hoping that someone may already know and help me to feel a little positive.

My wife is a Nursery Manager and has a Nursery Nurse Diploma I can tell you the NZQA has pre-assessed the diploma as a level 5 qualification for my wife and the awards her 50 points as the primary applicant or 10 as the secondary applicant.

You will still need to have the diploma assessed as the pre-assessment number is what actually gets the points on the EOI.

That's great to know, I thought it would be regonised, but there's always a little doubt. I will get it assessed and then put in my EOI form. I have a job waiting for me as long as I can confirm my diploma is regonised by the NZQA.

Have you already put in your EOI form? What's your situation at present?
Stressful at times is't it. It's all a waiting game.
