Default Nursing registration in New Zealand

:icon_question: Can anyone offer me any help please? Are there any nurses out there? I am trying to register in NZ but my hospital based training was ages ago. I qualified in 1989 and the hospital does not have a copy of the training transcript. The NZNC has asked me to ask the NMCUK to send a copy of the syllabus. Has anyone encountered similar problems? Thanks!

Hi,
Just my opinion. Might be wrong.
I would think if you can get your qualifications/work experience recognised, you, as a nurse, would find it MUCH easier to get a job and to get through the emigration process.
Just let your hubby tag along !
Oh, and the kids !

Sorry I can't help directly on your question.
Steve

Default nursing registration

Thanks for the comment Steve- you are absolutely right of course, it would be easier to go in on my qualification but I don't want to be tied to a job. I'm a bit housewifey !!!! However, just heard about the points score dropping so that's good news for us.
:icon_lol: Iainy-good news there as well. I have contacted the NMC and all you need to do is send Verification form 5 and Transcript request form 6 to them and they will deal with it all for a fee of ?34. They deal with it very quickly-the form 5 within 48hrs and form 6 within 3 weeks. Let me know how you get on. You'll find the phone numbers on the NMC website. The more I research all this, the more I want to go.

Hi there, typical we have to pay for it in England!!! Coming to Scotland on Thursday for the weekend. Can you sort the weather out for us please.
No, I've not contacted the health boards -only an agency. Would bank work count as a job offer, do you know? Let me know anything you can.
Husband's got cold feet at the moment. He's worried about the parents I think.

Default Belated reply to Iainy

Sorry I didn't reply earlier. We went to Aviemore. We had a fantastic time, didn't want to come home but we still want to go to New Zealand. Unfortunately my mother is very unwell and my dad cares for her. We will offer them to come with us and they've been to NZ already, but I don't think they'll come. Husband thinks his parents will go loopy when they find out. They will definitely not come!!!

Am I right in thinking I need to be registered to work in NZ as a nurse before I can submit my EOI ??

I'm finding this site very helpful, thanx everyone.
