You might want to consider the Business Investor visa if you or your husband have experience of running your own business or have had senior management jobs.

You'll need a combination of funds (probably from selling a house...) plus business experience but perhaps not as much of either as you might think. Once you have a visa you can do whatever you want once you get to NZ - including not working (retiring).
