As for your question, if there is nothing wrong with your application (assuming you submit it online) it will get sent to the pool, or as I think we should start lovingly refering to it as 'The Abyss' as its anyones guess what happens after submission!

Once you've submitted your EOI do they send you a response to acknowledge it's gone into the pool. I know they've got it because the payment wnet through!

This is just another guess.
I think your submission goes straight into the pool.
I don't think you get any form of acknowledgement.
When you login though, you can see the status, which should be 'submitted'.
I don't think they do any checks on it until it is picked.
If they do they are just a brief look.
The reason I think this is that when it's picked, they take months to send you the request to apply.
Also, they report on the number picked whose points were wrong. Which suggests they pick and then check !?
It takes that long to check your work experience, passport..........
