Certificate of Good Character ?

Just got my Police Check form back (after 3 weeks) which I was really chuffed about until I read the small print at the bottom...

So I downloaded the form from the Met Police website which said that they don't provide Certificates of Good Character, which is what we've been asked to provide to NZ House, but that the Subject Access Form is universally accepted as a substitute. Paid my ?10 and hoped it wouldn't take too long to come back (and that there were no surprises on it!)

Get the form back yesterday only to read at the bottom 'This form does not constitute a certificate of good character' !! :(

Anybody else have this problem?

Looks like another call to NZ House at ?1 a minute. I should probably think about getting their number put on my Friends and Family list!

What is that number for? The dialling code is for Bracknell where I grew up!

That will get you through to the ?1 a minute immigration line, its the advertised international number, only from the UK its just a normal phone call.

Just as a follow up...

Spoke to the good people at NZ House (how come you never get to speak to a kiwi - you would have thought there were a few round London?!?) and the Subject Access Form IS acceptable and fills the requirements for the Character element of the application.

Having said that, I am applying down the Family Category (Partner) route, but I can't believe it would be any different for the Skilled Migrant Category.
