Hi All, I would like to move to NZ. I am a Pipefitter by trade but cant find if NZ has a petrochemical industry(oil gas chemical)??? If so what area.

It does, but I can't remember which area! There is a specific region in the north island (hopefully someone will enlighten us!) that does and they also have a few offshore installations.

So its there, just need to find out which region!

thx for the info guys. I found those places but need to find out the name of the mechanical contractor companies who employ trades like pipefitters and welder, etc

as stated I am the naki boy here in taranaki
the naki is most certainly the centre of the oil/petrol gas industry in NZ

If you want to find a company by what it does, try one the directories.
eg

Pipers NZ
http://www.piperpat.co.nz/nz/

Product Finder - Find companies by name, brand or product type
Another directory that you can use to find jobs
http://www.productfinder.co.nz/index.jsp

If you know part of the company name, try:

New Zealand companies Office ? A searchable database of all registered NZ companies
If you enter the ?Search the Register? and ?Register Search?, you can enter even part of a company name
and find out it's full name, address and names of the directors. Could be useful !
