Post enlighten a newbie in need :)

Hi everyone I've been reading the posts here for a while and I can really say that it's a great help for people like me aspiring to go to NZ.

So here's my story. I hope you could help me.

My boyfriend is a NZ resident for 3yrs. We were classmates for 1 school year and became lovers but then June2009 he went to NZ, he stayed there for 10mos and went back here in Phils March2010 to be with me and finish his studies, November2011 he flew to NZ again to work and study at the same time. We are trying to apply for Work visa under Partnership I'm still not convinced if we qualify for the scheme because we did notlive together because we were still young back then. But if ever our plan works I will be staying at their house with his family

We are already preparing for the application so far we have:

    1. timeline (chronological order of our story with pictures of us together)
    2. letters from our parents and friends
    3. evidence that he is a resident and employed in NZ
    4. fund transfers (we do not have a joint bank account)
    5. love letters but not all are in English

Do we have a fighting chance to get approved?

I hope you guys can help me. Thanks!

    Cool

INZ is looking for a committed relationship. Living in two separate places wouldn't look like a committed relationship to me.

    Hi!

You could try looking at this. It's only a temporary visa but, if you qualify, it might give you some time to be together in NZ to qualify for a residency application.

    Post update

Me and boyfriend are supposed to be applying for Work visa under Partnership, since we did not live together I was only issued a Visitor's Visa valid for 9months and our case officer advised that after 4 months of living together in NZ I could then apply for Work Visa under partnership.

Now my question is that are there any source of income for someone like me with a Visitor's Visa?

I'm hoping that I could still earn money while waiting for the time that we can apply for a Work Visa.

    TIA :)

As far as I am aware, you wouldn't be allowed to work on a Visit Visa.
