We hope to return to NZ sometime in the next 3-4 years. When we lived there before in 2008 I was 43 (I know a spring chicken ) and I was given a mortgage that I think was over 25 years. When we return I may be the wrong side of 50 Will this make it difficult for me to get a mortgage and will it limit the term I can have it over? Here in the UK they have given me a mortgage that will finish when I am 68 and they asked how I would be able to pay after I retired. Has anyone had any experience of getting mortgages after 50 and is it more difficult?
