I mean if they give me a positive assessment; i.e. they feel y qualificatiosn is a a level 6 for example, does that assessment expire after x amount of months/ years, after which I have to apply for an assessment again, or is the first assessment valid for the rest of my life?

I can't say I've been aware of INZ putting a time limit on NZQAs like they do for medical and police certificates. Maybe the assessments are valid until the rules change again.
