Default Long term skills shortage

I have decided to give filling out the dreaded EOI a go
Nightmare
Anyway i am stuck at,my hubbys new job isnt on skilled migrant list, though job he done in Scotland for 2 yr (solid plasterer) is.
The new job he started on monday here in Chch is aluminium joiner which is on long term skills shortage list though must have a cert level 3 or 2 yrs work experience.
So should i stop filling out the EOI? Is that just for skilled migrant? And does anyone know what other form i would then fill in?
Just on a work permit just now, looking to get PR
cheers

Generally qualifications allow you to claim extra points for jobs being on the LTSSL, so you may miss out on those. The fact that the job is on the list, and hopefully your hubby has experience in the field of his new job, is enough to continue your EOI. Just make sure you have enough points based on age, experience and job alone. If he has no prior experience as an aluminium joiner, then you wont be able to claim any points for the job, so watch out for that one too.

Cheers Taffy
Yip he has only started the training for the aluminium joiner.
Good thing is the work permit is made out to jan 2010 so we can always renew it until he gets the experience by him.
I felt relived to actually see the job on a list as wasnt sure how that would go.
As for the solid plasterer,he has had 2 yrs in that line work, which is on the skilled list, but hes not doing that work here.
If i had seen that on the list back home in Scotland,we couldve applied for PR from there, but i didnt see it,though we were looking for external plasterer,we have heard that its called Solid plasterer here.
Thanx for the info anyway

The list changes regularly, so chances are it's not long been added! You seem to have a plan in place with your work permits though, so you'll get there in the end
