Thumbs up Query

I have a query. I have completed Master of Science in Biotechnology in Australia so I can get in as a University Lecturer according to the assessment list. But does my work experience also have to be as a University Lecturer? Or would working in a Biotechnology company be sufficient?

Also regarding guide to filling in EOI (thanks, really helpful mother bear!) these are my queries:

1. Regarding bonus points for employment or offer of emplyment does that employment have to be in NZ?
2. Regarding bonus points for qualification in identified future growth area and area of absolute skills shortage does the qualification have to be gained in NZ?
3. Also is a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree a recognised basic qualification?

thanks in advance.

i think i can get above 140 points if all the bonus points are valid!

Bonus points for employment or offer of employment has to be in NZ (otherwise everyone would be claiming these points).

Your qualification does not have to be obtained in NZ but will likely need to be assessed by NZQA. There is a help section on the EOI that you can refer to that may explain it in more detail. As for your particular qualification - I'm sorry but I can't help you there. You could always email NZQA and ask them. Hope this helps

This tells you a bit about qualifications obtained in Australia . I'm stil trying to track down whether a pharmacy degree is accepted but I'm sure I've seen pharmacist on a list somewhere.

Thumbs up

Thanks for ur reply. I will email NZQA for the qualification.
Does anyone know about the assessment query? If I get assessed as a University Lecturer (Masters or Doctors Degree) does my work experience have to be as a University Lecturer as well?

Thanks in advance.

To get points for your application your work experience needs to be in the same field as your qualification, but I don't know if there a qualification for such a thing as a university lecturer? Perhaps you would be considered to know enough to lecture on a subject just by having the relevant qualification and work experience in that field.

I found Pharmacist on the LTSSL so, if your degree is from a recognised Australian university, it should hopefully be acceptable.
