Believe me, I know from experience: calling won't do you any good. All you will hear is what MB said, except probably not as nicely.

One of the things you'll learn about the process is that when NZIS says 8-12 weeks, they mean at least 12 weeks.

Hello there!

Just want to ask, I am the prinicipal applicant and have included all my family members in one of the section of the application form of EOI, does it mean they too will undergo verification from the immigration? If my EOI will be approved are we all bound to New Zealand meaning my whole family or will I go there alone being the principal applicant? Please advise, would highly appreciate all your response.

On a more serious note, i have sent an inquiry to the immigration asking about the progress of my EOI, hope i can have a positive response from them coz I believe it's about time to ask them as it seems it's getting a bit too long to process their inquiries with regard to my application.

Regards.

Hi Michi

If, by all family members, you mean those apart from a partner and children i.e. your immediate family (if you have them, of course ), then they should only be looked at by INZ if you, in the future, want to sponsor them to go to NZ.

If it is only your partner and children then, yes, they would be part of your current application and INZ will include them in their enquiries. They would all have to go to NZ to activate their PR within 12 months of it being granted or they would lose it. If it's only other members of your family e.g. parents, sisters, brothers etc. , they don't need to go to NZ if you are granted PR. They are only included on your applicaton for INZ's information and they don't need to do anything.

I recommend that if you do inquire about your status, begin nicely. Give them the benefit of the doubt, perhaps assuming that they got bogged down under a heavy work load. Don't tick them off at the start. Then, if that doesn't get a response, complain in a firmer (yet still polite) tone to someone higher up. I think NZIS has a complaints contact you can find on the website.

We had to complain at one point, and I believe that by not attacking our caseworker, we were able to maintain cordial relations with her for the duration. We simply stated our problem and asked for a resolution.

Good luck!

I often feel this applies to a lot of life's problems. It seems, when you've let go of something and are getting on with your life in other ways, suddenly the blockage shifts and things start to move again.

Now, where's that Senokot?
