Default Basic Qual assessments.

Hi All.

I think I ave asked this before but will do again.

My OH had his Prince2 Practitioner (Project Management)qualification assessed for the EOI. (we could do with the extra 50 points then we can submit withough job offer).

We paid the money etc and they sent it back saying they couldn't find a comparative qualification and that we would have to have a full assessment (which we don't really wnat to do)

Now I know that employers in NZ recognise Prince 2 and that the qualification is even available to do in NZ.

This was quite a few months ago now but does anyone know if someone has had the same qual assessed and if they got a level or if we could appeal against it and ask them to look at it again seen as the qual is available in NZ.

Beth

Do you think it's worth sending them something like this to explain the qualification? They can't dispute that it's recognised in NZ as it's a NZ site. Perhaps it's rather obscure and they just haven't got it on their list although, as Lil Amy says in your previous post , it's always asked for when going for a job.

Unhappy

Just found this in the declaration on the pre-assessment form.

Quote:
I understand that this is a pre-assessment application, and as such there can be no appeal if I am not satisfied with my Pre-assessment Result and NZQA will not enter into correspondence regarding the outcome of a Pre-assessment Result. I understand however that I may submit an application for a full qualifications assessment if I wish my qualifications to be assessed in full.
Doesn't look too good really.

How much does a full assessment cost?

I copied this over from here .

I think the costs are:

NZ$450 for assessment
NZ$ 50 for a full set of photocopies if you haven't already enclosed certified copies
NZ$150 for fast tracking your application
NZ$? variable amount if the body your qualification is from requests a fee for verification.

Just to qualify what I said above about the NZQA costs, here it is from the horse's mouth.
