Default telephone interview tonight!
Good afternoon everyone ...

not sure which forum to put this in, so hope I've chosen well!

Anyway ... following on from my CV admissions last week, I now have a telephone interview with a Christchurch firm this evening.

Having never had a telephone interview am a little apprehensive, and not very optimistic about my chances. Any hints and tips would be gratefully welcomed.

Has been a busy week, first this, and now we're getting our house valued next week ready to sell it!

You'll be fine. Just act yourself and it should go swimmingly. If your interviewer is a true kiwi, he/she should be quite laid back and relaxed so that should put you at your ease. You might just end up talking about NZ and other personal stuff so it could be quite enjoyable. As long as you know your stuff, and I'm sure you do, there shouldn't be any problems.

I, for one, will be sitting on the edge of my seat, waiting to hear how you got on. Could be another Christchurchian coming up.

Good luck Lou, can't wait to hear how it goes - Christchurch would be a good place for you to settle, make sure you buy a HUGE house so we can come and stay on our big holiday over there in the next few years. We didn't get down to the South Island, so that's definitely on the agenda...be warned!!

the only telephone interview i can comment on is the one i had with NZIS which was realy laid back and friendly.
just keep in mind that they need your skills, and dont sell yourself short .thats the advice i have been given(easy said when you realy want to be there)

Well, I survived!

Not really sure how it went .... was on the phone for just over an hour. Had a chat about their company and the project. Then just discussed my CV, and loads of questions "asking for examples when ..." .

I just answered it all as honestly as I could. No technical questions really, which surprised me.

So, now I have to wait about a week, to ten days to hear whether I get to play with the web cam.

am just starting to get used to waiting ...

That's a long time to wait, Lou. Don't they know what they're missing? Thought they'd have snapped you up there and then, but I guess, being kiwis, they'll take their own sweet time as they're so laid back.

We'll just have to hold our breath a bit longer now.
