Default Qualification accredited by Australian authority

Hi Everyone,

I have my Bachelor degree assessed by Australian Engineers Association. Do I need to re-assess it from NZQA before I lodge my EOI ?application form or the Australian assessment is enough :-/

Thanks heaps

Sami

Sami,

Welcome to MoveToNZ. Good to have you with us.

When you say your Bachelor degree has been assessed in Australia, I can't tell where your degree comes from. ?Was it a country outside Australia? ?I don't know if you can find what you're looking for on here as this tells you which degrees from which Australian universities are recognised. However, if your degree is from another country, I guess this wouldn't be much use ?:-/.?

I would think if your degree has been recognised by an Australian body, it should also be recognised by the NZQA but whether you would have to resubmit it to NZQA I wouldn't like to say without looking it up further. ?Perhaps you can fill in the blanks and say where the original degree was obtained.

I'll keep looking to see if I can find what happens if your degree is from outside Oz but has been assessed there.

Thank you very much Mother Bear for your welcoming and the nice and colorful Hello.

My Bachelor degree is from Lebanon, which is not recognized by New Zealand. However when I assessed it in Australia, it was accredited by Engineers Australia. Now I want lodge my EOI form, but I don't know whether I have to re-assess it again from NZQA and pay the fees or no.

Once again, many thanks Mother Bear

::)

Unfortunately Lebanon doesn't appear on the list in the NZIS Operations Manual for recognised qualifications.

I wonder whether you could send an email to NZQA and tell them which degree you have and that it has been assessed by the engineering body in Australia and see what they say about it. I suspect you would have to have it reassessed by NZQA because it's a completely different entity to the Australian Engineers Association, but it wouldn't hurt to ask them.

If I find anything else about assessments outside of NZ, I'll post it on here.

Good luck. :)
