no probs. When I was having problems with WHV application, I called the NZIS to discuss and they were really helpful and forthcoming with infomration about the situation. Admitedly it's less complicated than an EOI but I would say definintely call them and ask if what you've got will suffice, assuming qual is on recognised list, before forking out assessment fees etc. In turn, if it's just that year 1 certificate you need then try and get a copy from the peeps who issued the qualification or ran the course.

Hi Steve

Wish it were as simple as that. I have been trying on the internet ,don't think they are any longer exist. It was late 60's early 70's when he gained these certificates. I have even e mailed my place of employment for evidence. So far no one has got back to me . but I think it unlikely that they keep you on file all those years ago.If it comes to it , I think we will have to speek directly to immigration to get advice. Is there a telephone number that doesn't cost a ?1 per minute.

As I understand it, it's both a pain and an expense to do the whole NZQA thing so if you can avoid it by just providing proof of qulaification, surely that would be sufficient?
I believe they can take a long time in carrying out the assessment too and I doubt very much you'd have your reply within the stipulated 2 weeks that NZIS have given you.

Sounds like you've done your best to try to get a copy of the 1st year certificate so I don't know how much more NZIS can expect from you.

Will a pre-assessment be enough for NZIS or will they want the full bifta? I know I've heard others in the past complaining about having to wait an age for NZQA to respond.

Hmmm, seems a bit of an big ask to require proof of quals from 30 years ago. Crikey!!! Specially if you have most if them, just the 1st year absent.

I think the number used to cost ?1 p/minute the London NZIS branch had, however on the NZIS website through the contact us link, there is NZ number, that will cost International rates but not a quid a minute I don't think (didn't notice an extortionate phone bill put it that way). They certainly don't have any small print saying how much the call will cost.

Obviously you'll have to call them at around 8pm our time to catch them in there office hours.
