So, when you you apply for your EOI?
If you apply ebfore you have a job offer and not enough points does this go against you later on. :icon_confused:

you can't apply till you have at least 100 points.

If you need a job offer to get the points you need to wait for the magic job offer before you can apply.

Default its the eggs and chickens

thanks
Its very difficult.
We both have good well paid jobs and have money to support ourselves,
But, currently we only score a meagre 20 points,,
SO how the ell do we get to the 100 points I ask myself and others.

We are applying for jobs but because we dont come under the skilled shortages listing I fear that it may be a close call even if we get jobs.

Even starting our own business which is our wish is difficult because we havent been doung so in the Uk

i think i am right in saying that Taffy found himself in a simlar position.

He took the bull by the hornsand went to university to get a "recognised qulaification) and thereby 50 points. ( i think thats right anyway..check the nz herald article thread in the general forum)

i'm not sure what you both work as, but if either one of you has a job that a relevant degree would be achievable then that may be an option..

3 years isn't that long in the grand scheme of things.

cheers

Default too old

thanks again, but we have to make the move the move next year as I'm 47 and my partner 53 and whilst I'm in sales management and she is a PA then thats the problem.
And we are both bored with what we do and want to live in NZ now and get nuy with us having money to support ourselves but need pocket money and a new life with new jobs.
We are both versatile but mmmm is the LTBV maybe the next option! :icon_confused:

I'm not sure where this thought comes from (I can't qualify it), but I've heard Northland seems to be a good place for the scuba field.

You can get a holiday visa for at least 9 months (may have to apply for an extension), and that's from the US. I believe the UK is 2x as long, so as long as you can keep your head above water, you'll have plenty of time to search for a job.

If your that set on moving and determined to succeed, you will.

(note: I'm generally a class clown around here, but this is a disclaimer that I'm being serious, and not pulling your leg [smiley=icon_biggrin.gif] )

Default food for thought

Again thanks for the note.

We are going to NZ next year whatever and are just tossing all considerations up in the air.
We may be thinking of the added option of a LTBV for my wife who has been obtaining extra income and renting a house out for the last 15 years with accounts to prove it.
So, maybe we could buy some property out there and rent it to obtain income as a business and loom to set up our own little business up as well or gets jobs..
But, there appears to be options as long as its planned and we put it to Immigration in the right form.

More work and planning and delving, but its fun and we want to/will move :icon_biggrin:
