Unhappy The end of an era

Well, this is going to be sort of a goodbye

Today we completed on our NZ house sale - it actually feels quite sad that our beautiful house that we designed and had built now belongs to someone else (not least sad cos of the bargain they got!!) but at least now we can close that chapter on our life, we don't have to worry anymore about being able to have the house rented out in order to pay the mortgage. I've accepted that we won't be able to keep it just as a holiday house/investment property (me and my pipedreams, eh??!), and when we come back to NZ on holiday in the future (which we still very much want to do) we can go anywhere and everywhere.

But don't think you are rid of me just yet - I will no doubt continue to lurk like a bad UK smell! Adding in my two-pennorth as and when not needed!! And I will no doubt be stalking Banjo-Jon and Zummerzet Lou through here to see how they are getting on with their new life!!

OOOh, obviously I am assuming that you'll let me stay - please Taffy and WG, let me lurk........

Love and luck to you all

    Maggie xx

Oh, Maggie, how sad for you, but the house wasn't much good to you when you're now back in the UK. I'm sure the money from it will be very welcome and put to good use.

I, for one, insist that you stay around the forum. If Taffy and WG won't let you, I'll smack 'em round the head with a smelly kipper . Your advice and comments on here are always welcome as you've been there, done that and gone back again. No doubt there will be others who follow the same path and will be very happy to hear what you have to say about your experiences.

I think quite a few of us are waiting for the big move with BJ and Lou. Exciting times.

Like you needed to ask, Maggiemoo Course you can stick around, in fact we'd be disappointed if you didn't, so feel free to lurk away

So pleased that the house has finally sold for you, it must be a great weight off your mind. Don't think of it as the end of an era, think of it as a new chapter - the next part of your life is taking place in the UK but who knows where the next episode will take you Just think of it this way - you were lucky enough (and brave enough!) to spend a while in NZ on your adventure, an opportunity a lot of people would give their eye teeth for, so don't have any regrets

We wish you and the rest of the Moo's all the best for your future and would love to see you come back to NZ one day, even if it's just for a visit! You've been a valuable member on movetonz for a long time and we'd hate to lose touch.

    Lotsa love

Hi ,just want to wish yous all the best and i think its good to hear the other side of the whole move to NZ too
We havent got perm residence yet, wont probably apply for about a year or so yet,but that gives me all the time to make sure we have done the right thing.
Its too big a move and for some people its just not the right one
But i for one would rather have tried and find out, nope not for us,than to always wonder

    Good on yous

You may have left NZ, but please don't leave us! Bittersweetness about the house sale
