Default About the process

I know applying and documenting your life is a pain (been there , done that myself) but hopefully you understand the reasons. It is to keep out bad people. They will lie or anything to get into New Zealand.

Hopefully this will make it better for the people who genuinely qualify. They ask about your family because sometime you can have a black sheep that can use or abuse you. If you lie it is grounds for removal.

When I applied years ago I found the immigration people extremely helpful.

Just know for all the hassle it is for the long term benefit of all concerned.

Also once accepted you qualify for all social benefits including medical and this can be a big deal. I put into the system here for many years and never needed it. I had a stroke back in February and found out what I have been paying for. Th stroke was lite as can be but was a real wake up call. I was in the hospital for 6 days to make sue I was stable and the cost was zero,, nada, zilch.

I come from the USA where that doesn't exist and worked for hospitals so I know what the bills can be like. There is a part of me that still expects a bill in the mail but I know it isn't going to happen.

It made me happy to be here and reminded me why I came to begin with. It was shortly after that I joined this forum to maybe help others with the process and remember some of what I had forgotten.

I hope this helps others understand there is a pot of gold at the end for many here in NZ.

And you're exactly the sort of people they DO want in the country, Cliff

Thanks for that post, it'll justify a lot to those who are going through it. It's good to hear that you're so obviously happy in NZ

It was a long time ago so my point of reference is from long ago but the feelings and emotions haven't changed.

Hi Rawcursed and

I think you would need to contact the doctor or clinic where you will have this test done to see if they will agree to your paying by installments. I guess each practice has its own rules about this sort of thing.

Good luck.
