Default Another free trip?

Getting a bit ahead of myself I know, but had to tell you all!

I sent off an application yesterday to appear on "A place in the sun - down under" with Amanda Lamb. Anyway, last night their researcher phoned wanting to talk further with us but we missed the call so I've got to phone her back after 10am this morning!!

Jon is beside himself as he has a bit of a soft-spot for Amanda ... not to mention the possibility of another recce to New Zealand!!

Keep those fingers crossed for us!!

Lou

Good grief, Lou. How wonderful!

Do you know which part of NZ you'd go to (if it comes off) or would you travel around? Not that I'd have thought of NZ as 'A place in the sun.....' although it does have its moments .

This is just what you need to buck you up after your previous disappointment. I'm soooo pleased for you both. Certainly everything will be crossed for you, but I hope you hear before I jet off tomorrow night.

Darn it, we don't have a TV so I wouldn't be able to watch when your programme comes on.

Surely they wouldn't allow Jon on TV?

Is he taking his banjo? Could be his big break. He could strum his way around NZ.

We've said we're looking to relocate to Wellington ... due to the higher demand for softies (Software Engineers) there.

Not getting my hopes up too much as I'm sure they have hundreds of applicants for the show. Just a bit excited as I hadn't expected to hear anything!!

Here's our demands ... "we're looking for a rural property, approx 2 acres, within 45 min commute of work with outbuildings and/or land to build/convert a "yoga-come-music studio", 4 beds, approx 120 UKP, with additional mortgage if necessary"

what d'ya think?

Hey Lou.

Certainly plenty of IT work in Welli! When you get hear you'll have to get in touch and i'll get neil to give you some good agencies to go with (Hudson and Beyond have been his main ones). Welli is a good choice- well we think so anyway.

Will you want to commute by car or Train? If you want land you will probably have to go out quite away to somewhere like Raumati/Waikanae up in Kapiti. The train runs pretty regularly into Welli and they also do an express. which should get you there in less than an hour. But you probably wouldn't want to drive it every day- quite a way out.

I've seen some nice properties out that way but too far for us. As for cost obviously they will be much more reasonably priced than closer to Welli and you have a fair chink of money to bring with you so should be OK.

The first one looks perfect!

Sooo ... how far is that from Wellington?

I suppose it all depends where I get a job? Have had my CV forwarded to a place in Lower Hutt .. although yet to receive any response from that yet.

Oh - I just wanna move .. NOW!!!

Completely off topic I know, spent Saturday with my Mum, 7am till 9pm as we visited my sister, about 2hrs drive from home. Not once was New Zealand mentioned .. and whenever I or the kids said something NZ related, she completely ignored it!!
