Default Crocs, do you love 'em or hate 'em?

Everywhere I look on the Net these days I seem to be confronted with quite heated debates between those who are dedicated Croc wearers and those who absolutely detest them, so I thought I'd start a MTNZ poll on the subject so that we're not left out.

And, yes it is quiet on here today and yes, I've been trying to think of something to stir the old emotions.

people that wear such plastic say they are the most comfortable foot protection put on today, I have not been trendy enough to purchase a $40 piece of plastic, I also notice people wearing knock crocs from Walmart... my opinion about crocs is I think they are silly looking, maybe good for canoeing though, but I like my sperry's for the water.
Jon Stewerts Daily show made a joke about them, refering croc wearers as bi-sexual people...very silly...it had to do with a senator being busted in the toilet stall making foot movements for sexual dates...

We saw them for the first time in America last year and thought they were the ugliest things we've ever seen. Daft looking, expensive plastic like Duke says. Rubbish!!

We were at a pool yesterday and there were loads of kids (Brits) wearing them and even quite a few adults. Perhaps they feel freer to wear them out here because there's no one to see them apart from other expats who are also wearing them. Probably wouldn't be seen dead in them back home.

Would say that they do make great boats in the pool. It was half full of bobbing Crocs of all sizes and colours. They sure do float well, but don't think you could go as far as walking on water in them.

I personally wouldn't be seen dead in them but they are apparently very comfy and I suppose they are OK for kids on the beach etc.

I tried some when we were in the States earlier this year - didn't find them comfy at all. So not for me - but I actually think they look ok! Take 'em or leave 'em. No emotions for me MB, so you'll need to find something else!

Personally, I think Crocs look ridiculous, but have friends who wear them a lot. Yep, they look ridiculous, too.

This recently appeared in the papers:

Got Crocs? Be Careful on the Escalator

By SARAH KARUSH ? 5 days ago

WASHINGTON (AP) ? At rail stations and shopping malls around the world, reports are popping up of people, particularly young children, getting their toes caught in escalators. The one common theme seems to be the clunky soft-soled clogs known by the name of the most popular brand, Crocs.

I think they are hideous!! I have seen quite a few people wearing them round here, and they just don't suit people (in my humble opinion) - I saw a very posh lady in our local Waitrose the other day who had co-ordinated her turquoise cashmere sweater with a turquoise and beige skirt, and a revolting pair of turquoise Crocs!!! Yuk Yuk Yuk!!

And they squeak irritatingly. Perhaps it's just when they're wet, but I've got lately that I can tell when a Croc-wearer is approaching me with my eyes shut because of the squeak .

Can't say I like em or hate em, although I think they look more like beachwear or something you'd wear around the house. Wearing them out in public around the streets should be banned, punishable by death.

I swear some of these fashion items are only released to see just how stupid people are willing to look for the sake of a popular brand. The Warehouse sells a cheap knock off version called Frogs, I think. They are around $15, but are reportedly just as good/comfy.
