First Day of School.

Just thought I would share with you all Jessica's first day at school.

I was woken up at 7 this morning by Jessica who had already got up and dressed herself in her uniform perfectly. She was soooooo excited this morning running and jumping about.

She started at 9 this morning but only stayed until lunch time.

There are non of her friends there from nursery school as they are going to a different primary school- also means none of my friends either.

The bell rang at 8:55 and in she went- hung up her coat and her P.E. bag. Had a visit to the toilet and went to sit on the carpet in her classroom. I told her I was leaving and she just stood up and gave me a kiss- no asking me to stay with her or anything.

I didn't think her first day at school would bother me but I did feel a little sad when I left her- no tears though. She's only just turned 4 so will be one of the youngest yet her going to school makes her seem so grown up- she's not my little girl anymore.

I picked her up at 12:00. She was already with coat on and some work she had done- complete with shiny stickers.

She seems to have really enjoyed herself and I hope it will be the same tomorrow.

Another milestone been and gone. I can still remember when mine first started school, even after all these years. At least you didn't have to put up with clinginess and tears with Jessica. She looks raring to go. Long may it continue.

Beth, what a milestone. I remember Laurens first day, I was in tears and she was telling me to go home and calm down. She's 16 now and still the same.

Don't blink Beth, they grow into big people when you're not looking

I really feel for you ... we have this still to come, although it was bad enough when James did his first morning at pre-school. Assuming we are still in the UK, he'll be starting sept 08 and I'm dreading it already.

So pleased to hear she loved it ... and hope you find it a little easier over the next few days,

What a cutie! I'm glad she wasn't upset about leaving you, though I sympathize with your own pangs. It seems to be a good time for your relationship with her to come into a new phase, and be enriched. Enjoy!

She's my little star- soooo clever- shes 4 going on 40 i think and has definately been here before.

The first week of half days is over and all has gone well. The real test will be when she starts on full days (not until Thursday though).

She does seem to have settled well so let's hope things carry on this way.
