Yes, I agree that most people do experience some kind of deja vu, but probably don't even realise it, don't recognise it or just ignore it.

Many moons ago, I was about to set off in the car from my home with my fiance. I lived along a narrow lane and, for some reason, that day I just did not want to go out. I had no idea at all why, but strongly felt it would be a bad thing to do. Half way along this lane, at a corner, we literally came face to face with another car cutting the corner. My fiance's car was a write-off and I ended up with a dent in my shin where my leg had somehow flown upwards and connected with the underside of the dashboard. Luckily we were wearing seatbelts at the time or it would have been a lot more serious. The 2 females in the other car were OK but their car also was badly damaged. It's funny (if that's the right word) that, when the accident was happening, I was seeing it all in slow motion, but wasn't aware of any sound or any feeling. It was only afterwards I realised that my leg was injured as I felt nothing at the time it happened.

Since then I've often been aware of nagging feelings about something I, or someone else, was about to do, but they are never defined enough for me to be able to make proper judgements about the situations. It's only afterwards that I find myself saying 'I bl**dy knew it!' These feelings are quite strong but, at the same time, are somewhat vague in what they're trying to tell me, so I'm left wondering if I'm just imagining it and therefore should dismiss it, or whether there is more to it, but I don't know how to react. It's extremely frustrating that I can't make out what I'm being 'told' so that I can see more clearly what I'm supposed to do or not do (if that makes sense ).

Glenda, that's very unsettling for you. I wonder why it's only newspapers that have that effect. If that 'gift' was able to be expanded, it's the sort of thing the police would probably be very interested in for help with their sudden death operations.

Did anyone else read the story of Oscar the cat who can predict deaths in the nursing home where he lives?

I think most of us have a sixth sense that something is about to happen, but often we just think we are imagining that feeling of foreboding.

I haven't told many people of the 'gift/curse' as I can imagine they would think I am weird. (Yep ... I really must be! hee hee.) Have heard of these people who help police with crimes but my experience has remained just shortlived (two or three seconds) and is a speedy mixture of watching the scene, feeling the victim's confusion/shock, and the last thing the victim saw - which is usually a sky, ceiling or floor rather than the facial features of an attacker. It is not pleasant, and I automatically detach myself from it.

Brilliant story about Oscar the cat!

I don't envy your gift, Glenda. I'm glad you're able to keep it from overwhelming you.

Every now and again I'll get a niggling feeling that trouble is about to happen. i just try to be vigilant and call on any protective juju that might help to keep me safe. Now that I think of it, I've had a handful of "weird" experiences, but just don't put much effort into tapping that kind of energy.

Wonder if police have thought to employ psychics in the search for Madeleine McCann.

Psychic coming to help souls in New Zealand
5:00AM Monday September 24, 2007
By Juliet Rowan

Sceptic or spiritual believer, you can't deny her popularity. Australian psychic Deb Webber returns to New Zealand today for a new round of live shows where she aims to connect audiences with the spirit world.

Some of the shows are sold out, reflecting the attention she and the TVNZ programme Sensing Murder have captured on local shores.

Webber, 43, regularly appears on the programme, which uses psychics to uncover clues in unsolved murders and missing person cases.

New Zealand police have praised Sensing Murder - now in its second series - saying it has generated new leads in several old cases.

More here .

I believe we all have this kind of energy, it's just that we've been trained into logical thinking and don't trust our instincts anymore. It's one of the reasons kids are more susceptible to 'supernatural' experiences i.e they haven't yet been told they're unacceptable.

It won't surprise you to know as the forums proclaimed and proverbial hippy, that I've had several kinds of these experiences but I honestly believe they'll happen to anyone who is open to the possibility.

ebianca I had a past life regression once - vair vair interesting it was too

For anyone still interested in this topic, I'm creating a new masterpeice (ok, maybe not) on this subject and anything else I find interesting!

As many of the subjects cause confusion and disbelief, I've aptly named it Head Wreckers! - Head Wreckers - You won't leave sane!

Not much there as of now, so get over there and do your bit! If nothing else, it could be a welcome break from immigration stresses and strains

I see someone has already mentioned Dawn as the Headwrecker Incarnate on your new site. Now how did they know that?...

Guess they found their way to the site via this forum. Perhaps they even listened in to Dawn's radio show which, I imagine, could well have fuelled such a comment.

At least someone's been adventuresome enough to make a post . I wonder if we're all waiting for one another to start off a topic. It's a difficult subject to get going as most of us covered our unusual experiences on this forum a while back and probably feel awkward about repeating them again on Head Wreckers.

I couldn't think of anything to post that i hadn't posted here. Yes, I know it's a completely different forum, but still.
