A question about 'chook' ...

How is it pronounced?

Does it rhyme with cook, look, and book or with luke, puke, fluke, and rebuke? Or does it rhyme with neither?

Just curious after seeking it a hundred times and seeing a poster spell it it 'chuck.'

As far as I'm aware, it's pronounced to rhyme with cook, look etc :)

Both. ?Depends where about in the UK you come from. ?

In NZ, I think it would be 'chook', but haven't heard it said much, so can't be absolutely sure.

From my small experience, I'd go for 'chook' as the spelling and rhyming with 'book' for the sound. ?I'd love to keep chooks, but with both of us having high cholesterol that might not be such a good idea unless we were to have a whole batch and sell the eggs (or is that 'iggs'? ?;)).
