Default Re: Happy Thanksgiving

Golly, thanks MB. Our Thanksgiving is at such an awkward time - the harvest has been in for a month or more. It makes sooo much sense. I think it's just a launching-point for the Yule season: start eating now, and keep eating until the New Year.

Even so, we had a nice little turkey dinner, complete with the requisite dressing and cranberry sauce. We did forego the pumpkin pie, but only because Karin wanted to make an apple and chestnut tart. It's not nearly so much fun with only two at the table.

In preparation for Yule gifts, today we made persimmon preserves. It will be so hard to part with something so yummy, but we don't eat much in the way of jams. I also dried some persimmons, and plan to soak some of them in rum - it sounds so delectable! I love harvest time - does it show?

Happy belated Turkey Day to James and the rest of the American contingent.
