Nahhh you can insult a person, even really badly, but it's like an unspoken rule not to diss family. Especially with the world in the state it's in re terrorism etc. Do you know anybody who'd actually use that as an insult?

I don't condone violence but if someone deserves it, they deserve it imho. Like that Cystal Palace fan, sitting all smugly in the terraces insulting Cantona. It was just out of order and I think he deserves what he got. Bet he wouldn't do it again. Hmmm he was french also ::) obviousy a french thing, rage. Problem is people think they're invincible these days and don't face up to the responsibility of there actions, it's the same throughout society. People going to jail only to be given a playstation when they get there.

At the end of the day what's the more powerful message in this, 'kick people in the face or headbutt people' or 'don't hurl abuse at people in case they kick you in the face or headbutt you'.

Surely it should be 'respect one another and if someone's stupid enough to make a moron comment don't give it any credibility by reacting'.

Maybe you're just more honest than me though Stevey, not really sure how I'd react if someone did it to me. I've had nasty comments and threats to myself made to my face but never against my family. If they were just words I could probably walk away thinking of what I'd like to do with a baseball bat, if those words became attempted actions I think I would probably put those thoughts into actions. But threats and actions are two different things aren't they?

My ex-husband threatened to abduct the kids once when they were both small and I slept with a pick axe handle by the bed hoping that he would try [smiley=icon_twisted.gif]

The amount of diving/cheating at the last world cup has made me lose my enthusiasm for football. [smiley=icon_sad.gif]

Us English should start diving and cheating a bit more IMO.

ok controversial comment alert!!

I agree that England should so more of it, but don't blame others for it either. Unless playing some matches can be boring just watching so why not add another element to it. The referee messes everything up regardless of people diving. I dive when I play, cos I got sick of skinning (dribbling round) people and then being hacked and trying to stay on my feet only to lose possesion anyway, when the ref didn't give the free kick. He gives it if you go down tho.
Having said that there is a difference between blatant deception and going down easily, I do the latter I guess.

Dawn, what kid gets that message?? From watching the tele, they see the action, not the action, response and reason for the response all pieced together in their little minds. Unless of course the chain of events is obvious, I'm sure kids don't see a bloke fly through the air to kick someone and assume they did it for nothing.

U instigated this debate right?
