[b:83036e609b]Fake bikini bidder sends 'adorable' apology [/b:83036e609b]21 June 2006
By BRUCE HOLLOWAY

Waikato Stadium streaker Lisa Lewis has received a touching apology from the Christchurch boy who posted a fake "winning" internet bid for her bikini.

In an emailed letter that Ms Lewis described as "adorable", 10-year-old Cody Walters said he was very sorry for causing problems with his bogus $4010 bid.

"You just looked very nice on TV and in the newspaper and I thought it would be cool to own something from somebody famous," he wrote.

"I hope that you managed to sell it for a high price. If I had enough pocket money I truly would have brought it. I think you are a great person and very beautiful."

Cody has been banned from TradeMe by his father, and says he will not do it again.

? Meanwhile, Ms Lewis was today waiting for confirmation that an Australian bid of $4000 was genuine.

Yes, but in her case it's paid off. She's got what she wanted, celebrity status and the likelihood of a handsome price for her bikini being sold on Trademe.

There's been some contest though from her ex-lover who spent a huge amount of money on her, including breast enhancement. Now he reckons he should receive the money for the bikini as it was he who bought it for her in the first place.

[color=darkred:51d54770da][b:51d54770da]Bikini streaker apologises for influencing 'knicker' run [/b:51d54770da][/color:51d54770da]
22 June 2006

Bikini streaker Lisa Lewis has apologised to Nelson College for Girls for inspiring a 17-year-old student's topless escapade this week. Ms Lewis had phoned College principal Alison McAlpine this morning, Mrs McAlpine said. Ms Lewis, who ran on to the field in a bikini during the first All Blacks-Ireland test, said she was upset that she had in any way encouraged student Heidi Wardrop.

Year 13 student Miss Wardrop ran on to the sports field dressed only in her knickers at an interschool rugby match on Tuesday. She said the streak was "completely spontaneous", resulting from a dare when the match between Nelson College and Christchurch's Shirley Boys' High School became boring.

She has been suspended from school. She will face a board of trustees hearing on Monday that will decide her fate.

Mrs McAlpine said Miss Wardrop had also contacted her today distraught at media coverage given to Tuesday's incident. Mrs McAlpine said she understood TV1 re-enacted the incident on camera for its news bulletins last night. "I can't believe that it would make national news," she said.

Ms Lewis last week copped a $200 fine and $130 costs in Hamilton District Court. She was now waiting to see if a $4000 bid for her infamous bikini was successful on the TradeMe auction site.

Mrs McAlpine said Ms Lewis had been "very apologetic" this morning. "She said she regretted any influence she had on young people and that her actions had led to repercussions for her, with a conviction and heavy fine," she said. "I admired her for calling."

Mrs McAlpine said Miss Wardrop had telephoned this morning "very upset about her naivety" and the media attention she had attracted. "Young people are naive and what they see in the spur of the moment is not what the reality is," she said. "She's very upset (by the media coverage)."

OK, so the "streaker" was wearing a bikini? I thought streaking was done nude, with or without surgical enhancements. What a way to get one's 15 minutes of fame. Maybe the kid who made the bogus TradeMe bid can put his apology letter up for auction, too.
