Small Kitchens?!?!

Bringing electrical appliances from the US is a "six of one and half a dozen of the other" type decision for us. We know of an American family who brought all theirs and run them on transformers and adapters. We have decided to bring the smaller stuff, but not the refridgerator, washer and dryer. Although these large appliances are pretty new and have at least 15 years of life left in them, we didn't want to take a chance of them breaking down on us. Ideally, if money was not a problem, we could just leave everything behind and buy new appliances. However, we noticed that they cost 2-3 times more than they do in the US. There is also the problem of a limited amount given for our moving allowance. We just have to take one step at a time....I am sure things will get better when I find some kind of employment. Fot starters, we will just have to be frugal.....
I am more than happy to downsize...I am tired of being a slave to my possessions. Housework is not my favorite hobby either!

I know the feeling, it was very liberating when we were clearing out stuff - some of it we hadn't even unpacked from the last move. I expect that we will still have a few more odds and ends to clear out though.
