...he must have been pretty close to it. It says he was jailed so there was some sort of court case, but it says 'for taking his children out of school'. Is taking your children out of school such a serious offence in the UK then?

It can be and yes you can be jailed, part of the governments attempt to crack down on truancy. If a parent does not take steps to ensure that their children attend school, then yes after warnings, they can be jailed

Unless things have drastically changed the last couple of years, you can take your child out of school in the UK, however it has to be done properly with a carefully worded letter to the school explaining you are now home-educating your child. There will also be visits from a local education officer to ensure you are educating at home.

He?s a megalomaniac who?s thriving off the misguided hero-worship of his women. To have been excommunicated and lost his TV and radio shows must indicate that he?s severely fallen from grace. I don?t see that sort of thing happening just for taking his kids out of school. He?s one very dubious dude, as I see it. And what causes Margo to appear ?wan, even haunted looking? and why do the women seem to weep at the slightest provocation? If he was a bloke that was living with 7 women under normal (non-controlling) conditions, I couldn?t care less apart from a bit of tut tutting, and as Moggy says ?Live and let live?. But it?s his control over them that?s unnatural and even the Arabs stop at 4 wives. Those children (and from the pics in the link below they appear to be mainly female) will grow up behaving towards men the same way as their mothers. They will assume that's how a female is to be treated by man and will perpetuate this type of submissive behaviour.

I think it was last night that the documentary was being screened. Perhaps some of you?ve seen it. Interesting to see if the programme actually throws a different light on it. I'd take a bit of convincing though.
