Not like you to be so gushing, Taffy, unless you had a hand in it, of course? [img:8096dd5b58]http://www.smilies.smileyville.net/smilies/923.gif[/img:8096dd5b58]

Great blog, Glenda. :smiley20: Hope you're sorted this time. It's not the flashy blog site that matters, it's the content.

You could say I had a hand in it, as Bloggers is my website!

Let me know what you think, Glenda, and what improvements you'd like to see... be honest!!

Well, you live and learn. I did look to see if it had your stamp on it, but didn't recognised any of your usual associated stuff on the bottom. It isn't anything fancy, but then people tend to look at blogs to read what's contained therein, rather than how cool the background is. Seems to do the job except the top pics haven't come out, which may have been the stumbling block with the other site. Glenda, you haven't got the photos blocked for public viewing in any way, have you? I made that mistake once and had to change the security setting to 'public'.

I'd write a blog if I thought I had anything worth stuffing in one. Now I know where to come if I ever have the urge.

Edited to add: I think the blog could do with a nice picture of a sheep wearing sunglasses. :023:

It really is a small world! :icon_eek: :icon_wink: :icon_wink: :icon_wink:

OK, Taffy and MB ... I'm in a pickle with the photo uploading business. Can't work out where I am supposed to change the security setting to public - if it is on MSN sharing pictures then it seems to me I have to close and re-open my account. The earlier photos on my blog were cut and pasted from the old blog - they look better than the two attempted new ones which came out super big. Any help would be appreciated ... or I'll just go back to writing old fashioned letters. [smilie=head banger.gif]

Do you have any software where you can just resize the photos for uploading? If not, try something like Google's Picassa software MB is an expert on Picassa, so I'm sure she'll be able to advise!

Glenda, if you've got your pics on MSN Spaces, there's a button over on the right at the top that says 'Settings'. If you click that it takes you into a page called Space Settings. At the top there's a button for 'Permissions'. Clicking that gives you a drop down menu where you can select either Public, Messenger, Messenger and Friends etc. The choice doesn't mention blogs only so maybe you'd just have to make it Public. If you change this selection, hopefully, your pics should be available for viewing.

I've got mine on Yahoo photos and had the same problem where people couldn't view my pics until I'd changed the setting. If you still don't have any success, let me know and I'll tell you about Picasa, although I must admit, whereas that's fantastic for playing about with pic effects, I haven't used it for anything else other than a storage facility. There is a button at the bottom for use with blogs so it must work on them.

I'm still trying to research on the resizing problem. Tried to go back to the beginning to check what MSN says to new members about uploading photos, but can't find where it tells you how the system works. It should say if it will automatically resize for you but, when I go to check, it just throws me back to my own Spaces site. Same with Yahoo Photos. Originally, I pulled my pics from My Pictures where I store all my photos (as well as Picasa) but can't remember if I had to resize them first or not. If I did, I'd have resized on there first.

[color=violet:d82d171ee3]Edited to add:[/color:d82d171ee3] Just been trying to add photos to my MSN site as a test run to see if they needed resizing or not and remembered that I had trouble adding more pics the last time I tried. I click on 'Add photos' but nothing happens and it's still the same now. Don't know why this should be. I can create a new album, but can't add any pics to it or to any of the existing albums.

Hi Mother Bear,

Well ... I have so many entries in MSN now in various groups (including a blog with them) but still have problem with photos ... and I am set at 'public'. Must admit the photos are big - around 1MB but even when they are rejected and resized they do not appear where they should do. (Have now altered the camera to lessen the size.) If I feel brave, bored or foolhardy, I'll have a tour around yahoo to see what I can do.

Many, many thanks for your efforts to help me through this problem but I think I will call it a day. It has made us all rather grumpy here.

Guess you may all have to put up with me being overly chatty! :icon_lol:

Nothing wrong with that, Glenda. Could do with a bit of chattiness on here as it's gone very quiet again now.

Shame about the pics. I can't give much more assistance regarding putting pics on blogs as I've never done it. I know a lot of people use www.photobucket.com , but, again, I've never used it so can't comment on whether it's beneficial or not.

Must comment though, our Internet connection seems to have been (and still is) down for the last hour and a half, and I can't get anything to work apart from this forum. How odd it still works when everything else is down. The only thing not working on here are my offsite avatars. This forum must be running on fresh air.

No doubt Taffy will have some witty repartee about how come his site functions when everything else is in chaos. Perhaps this forum is The Chosen One and doesn't need a cr@ppy old Internet connection to function. :023:

Well, here he is - your one and only Easter Bunny. If he sits on your chocolate eggs, there won't be much left of them.
