Default I'm not giving up on NZ yet!!! (Even with an Aussie GF)

Many of you read in a post far far away hidden deep somewhere....that I recently obtained a girlfriend while in Australia (Melbourne) for a 2 week holiday (that turned into 3 weeks).

Well, she is willing to move here in the future (probably January-ish of 2007) as this IS the only place in the world where we can both work without immigration hassles, afterall.

I've talked about how awesome NZ is sooo much that she is starting to believe me (hey, she is one of those open minded Australian....so I guess it was only a matter of time). Oh, and should we end up together, traveling the world is totally in our plans.

An Australian and an American living in NZ. :icon_lol: :icon_lol:

Here's a picture (at a hockey match for the Commonwealth Games):

I hadn't seen the previous mention of your Oz trip or girlfriend. - Wow! Congrats and best wishes. So... what's her name? What does she do for fun and for a living? Does she have any pets? Does she laugh at your jokes? Does she Hoover under the bed? (I won't ask about the spots on her bum) When are you bringing her here to meet "the family"? Then again, we might scare her off.

Ain't love grand? :057:

Stevey - I was wearing an Australian shirt, that wasn't tucked in, and I wasn't wearing white socks. What else can I do!? :icon_eek: :icon_lol:

Selchie -

Her name is Shannon.

She's an Occupational Therapist (a bit more fulfilling than my IT work) and she's really fit (which is a huge plus, as I am as well) and loves jogging (I like playing sports more than a jog....I've only jogged 5 times in the last 4 years....all 5 times being after I met her). She's also huge into volunteer work (which is also a huge plus, same here)....she wants to go to Africa or Asia in a few years to do some volunteer work. She was going to do it this Christmas, but is putting that off so that we can do that together later on (Lord willing).

No pets that I know of.

She thinks I'm one of the funniest people she has ever met (I think she's the most wonderful woman I've ever met....sorry, getting mushy). She even laughs when I don't tell a joke.

No idea about the vacuuming. Asked a random woman in front of us at the game to take the pic.

I'm going over in May for 2 weeks, and she's coming over here in July for 2 weeks.

Oooh, I'll have to tell her about you guys. Gotta keep her away from Stevey though. Where is Ramsay Street? :icon_wink:

She already knows about my benevolence work with sheep here so I don't have anything to hide. (muwhahahaha. I'm talking about Al Sheepa of course. Don't forget to Party Vote us in 08!!)

Here's another picture:

[img:f0c271f9ac]http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y227/NZCarman/IMG_0329.jpg[/img:f0c271f9ac]

Oh yeah, and she's tall. I'm 6'0" and she's 5'10".

Ooh, and as far as "love being grand".....I didn't know it could be this grand! [img:f0c271f9ac]http://www.movetonz.org/forum/images/smiles/Yahoo!.gif[/img:f0c271f9ac]

Sorry, I think SteveyC is probably hurling now. [img:f0c271f9ac]http://www.movetonz.org/forum/images/smiles/Sick.gif[/img:f0c271f9ac]

She looks lovely and sounds like a real interesting young lady. I hope you have a great time in May. Long distance relationships are hard to keep going, so all the best.

Well done, James. Sounds like you've got a good 'un there. If she can put up with you she must be worth hanging onto :icon_wink: . All the best with the relationship. Just don't go making any wedding plans just yet. You have to wait until we're all in NZ and can come to the celebrations. :023:

A first romance for the forum. :049: :050:

hehe less american on that one. I wouldn't hurl, I'm as soft as they come mate good on ya.

2nd pic looks less stereotypical, I think it's just cos you're so happy, us brits are miserable bastards but you American are always smugly grinning to yourself hehe. Just comes across to the picture, like I said congrats mate.

OK, now I'm a bit more comfortable with you seeing this young woman, now that you've (sort of) introduced her. But she will need further scruitiny if the family here is going to give our blessing to any nuptuals. Best of wishes for the two of you. :049: :049: :049: :049: :049: :049: :049:
