Default I thought ebay UK was bad......

Just logged on to trademe.co.nz & this was one of the featured lots.....

FUNERAL CASKET \coffin with D.I.Y.lining kit. for sale - TradeMe.co.nz - New Zealand

I thought ebay in the UK had some weird lots, but this! Its not like something you would take a fancy to & just buy it 'cos you liked it.

MB - I know your into your arts & crafts, how would you fancy "doing up" this as its unpainted?

Anyone else spotted strange items on trademe?

Cheers

Nick

Not being funny Nick but.....

What the hell were you searching for to stumble on this

Seen some of the houses on Trademe? Often loads cheaper and more descriptive, not sure how sound the buying process would be tho.

Did your bro ever get back to you on world cup coverage btw?

Stevey

I did say it was a featured lot....it was on the home page, I didnt go looking for it honest!

The houses on trade me that are being solid independently cut out the middle man , ie real estate sales person. From what I can gather it means that the offer / negotiation / acceptance process is either mano-a-mano or through the solicitors. Regardless of what channel we buy through we will be doing everything through a solicitor anyway - due to the different processes involved and conditional offers etc.

Greendoor also act as an "introductory" service and dont get involved with the negotiation of the sale. Hence they are substantially cheaper than real estate agents.

Stevey

My brother reckons that the best coverage is going to be on terrestrial telly - with live coverage & recorded high lights. As soon as full listings are confirmed he's gonna let us know.

Ahh by 'featured items' I just thought, items on the site. Congrats on not being a freak hehe.

Guess we'll have to just turn up and hope for the best on the footie front. Claire told me categoricallly (spelt?) that we WERE NOT delaying our dream for a whole month just so I can watch the EFFING WORLD CUP!!! Perhaps I should have asked after sex rather than before, DOH!!!! :icon_sad:

After instead of before? Well thats a self complimentary comment if ever i heard one!

With all the premiership coverage that is on NZTV they must surely be giving good England coverage.

Football is a touchy issue in hour house at the moment, good old Carlisle United have made it to the LDV vans Cup Final at Cardiff ( its like the Carling cup for peasants!) - I got an invite of one of our suppliers at work with hotel, night out in Cardiff etc tagged on. The response I got from home wasn't very receptive - in fact if I went, I would have to sleep on the sofa for at least a week.

Some things are worth fighting for.....others you just know you have lost as soon as you open your mouth.

Hopefully I can get Jacky into Rugby - she didnt have time to get into the six nations this time. But hopefully in NZ things will be different.

Don't know what you're talking about hehe.

What so one night out = week on sofa?? Eeek harsh. Is it because you'll be away from home for 36 hours or because you're hitting the town for an evening? I'm aware of LDV trophy btw and bearing in mind the fact you're leaving your beloved club behind to build a better life for the family, surely one last hurrah at possibly the only final the club will ever get to is only fitting. It's a big sacrifice.

Oh yes. I think a bit of decoupage would go down nicely with this type of thing. Plenty of nice flat surfaces to run riot on. Certainly would make sure you go out in a blaze of glory.
Used to work with 2 sisters who were busily making lace coverlets ready for their coffins . Tatting, I think the craft was called, but can't remember what the proper name for the coverlets was. Personally, an attractive set of doilies would have done me.

What worries me about this advert is this:

Once proof of delivery has taken place I take no responsibility for this casket

Sounds like he's a bit worried that the body might just dropped through the bottom of it or something.

I suppose if you bought it for your own use and if the bottom fell out of I guess you wouldnt be in a position to complain. Unless its through a medium!

Wonder if people sell them on if they when they get it home its the wrong size?

Also wonder if they run trademe ads on the telly like here - scare the s**t out of people if some one popped up out of a coffin singing the praises of trademe

I also like the fact that the guy wony answer any questions due to the disturbing questions asked from a previous auction.
