Default I thought ebay UK was bad......

It's an advert that's full of intrigue. I'd give a lot to know the story behind it. Perhaps some of his previous customers had come back to haunt him about his shoddy workmanship. It's obviously upset him, whatever happened before.

I wonder if they come in different sizes. Could be 'One size fits all'.

If I'd gone to all the trouble of decoupaging my coffin, I'd be mighty put out if they go and stick it in the ground after I've turned up my toes. Even more so if they set fire to it. I think I'd have to put it into my will that the coffin (and presumably my remains) are put on show. However, if the bottom did fall out of it, they could just hold it over the hole in the ground and I'd plop neatly into it. They could then recycle the coffin with a new bottom in it. Da da...

I do like the idea of an economical coffin - and my dad said he just wanted a simple pine box (there must be some Scots in the wood pile). But I also wondered about those traumatic correspondences that the seller just can't get over.

Hi Nick,

I don't know if you are aware, but taking care of funeral arrangements, "from the ground down" is not such an uncommon practice in New Zealand, especially amongst Maori.
