Well it certainly looks as though Dawn has settled into the family quite well :006: . Who needs a chat room when we can post our little snipes here for everyone to read for years to come? Now, MB and Stevey: play nicely :052: , or I'll fail you in sandbox this semester :018:.

I'm thinking that apart from the $5 for the new chatroom, I'm going to have to fork out several hundred more $$'s in padded suits, shields and whatever else just to make it safe to go in!

So what is happening with the new Chat Room? I'm only asking on Dawn's behalf. She seems quite keen on the idea.

New chat room is installed, just having to fiddle about with it to get it to recognise forum member logins. Supposed to come with a system that does it all for you, but after an hour of messing around I gave up on it, easier to redo it myself!!

For those that can't wait, you can register to log in to chat here:

Over the next few days i will integrate it with forum logins and also add a section to the forum so you can see who's in the chat room.

If you're observant, you'll have spotted the chat room status just under the flag above and to the right. You can see at any stage in the forum how many people are in the chat room.

Broke it, of course, but all mended again now. I always have to have a fiddle with everything and must have upset something. Message screen locked up and wouldn't scroll down so I couldn't see the last few messages. Just in case anyone else has this problem, on Taffy's advice, I left the room and came back in again and the problem resolved itself.

Oh, one question, which will no doubt be self-evident when I log off, do we have to be logged in to see if there's someone in chat? I don't have myself set to automatically log in so I wouldn't necessarily be able to see if the Chat Room was in use.

Yes, I can see there's one person in the Chat Room but, seeing as it's Nattydread, I'm not sticking my toe in there or I'll have a heated discussion on the triviality of curtain hooks on my plate.
