CHAT ROOM

I often see you Dawn but only when I'm at work so no chance of coming in. I only come on last thing before bed now so I get all of the days posts read and replied to if neccessary allowing me to sleep easy. (The boredome caused by reading half of them helps me sleep to hehe. Only joking :icon_mrgreen: )

I often see someone signed in under the name of New Zealand which is odd, so never go in to chat to him. Don't want to be groomed by a country eeek!!! :icon_eek:

Stevey, if the name 'New Zealand' that you're seeing is under the heading 'Name' it's actually the name of the room you're in i.e. the NZ Chat Room as opposed to the Bangladeshi Chat Room :icon_mrgreen: . If a member or non-member is signed into Chat, the name will appear under 'User'. If the space is blank, there's no one in there at the time. If someone's just left the Chat Room, there can appear to be someone still in there for several minutes afterwards going by the 1 on the indicator, same if you just come out of the forum without logging off properly.

I did wonder if you meant it as a joke, but as I didn't see Mr. Green grinning at me, I thought I'd err on the side of caution.

When the kids go back to school, I'll be able to keep it on in the background like Dawn does. Hopefully, I'll catch someone. :icon_twisted:

By the way Dawn, went into chat the other day as you were in there, said hello, no response, waited, yooohooed you, no response. Perhaps you were doing the washing, or in the shower! :icon_wink: :icon_lol:

The sound thingy is playing up on my PC, so probably because of that I didn't hear the little ditty we get? Sod it. i was only doing boring paperwork as well, would have welcomed the chance to chat to someone.

I remember getting snarled up in this 'hidden' thing when I first started posting. I kept wondering who the sinister lurker was who always insisted on remaining anonymous. Then I found out it was me [img:c5a4be44e6]http://www.smilies.smileyville.net/smilies/388.gif[/img:c5a4be44e6] .

I think it's to do with the 'hide your online status' feature in your profile. If you tick 'yes' you just appear as a hidden mystery person. You can change it to 'no' with the click of a mouse.
