You have my sincere condolences. Life is a bitch??? but even more so when you have a house to sell. It's just typical of a lot of people today, never considering how their actions will affect others. Probably hoping to get a sale off the back of your and your other neighbour's properties with the amount of viewers that they will generate.

In our case it went one step further and our buyers did an about-turn and put in an offer on our neighbour?s house which had just gone on the market after ours. I worked with the guy (the neighbour) and only found out about it in general conversation regarding the offer he?d had on his house. He didn?t realise they were actually our buyers. I checked with the agent who confirmed this, but no one had bothered to tell us our our deal had fallen through. As luck would have it, the buyers had ?words? with my colleague during negotiations and they pulled out. Came knocking back at our door again. Would have had the greatest pleasure in slamming the door in their faces, but, due to having another house lined up, we weren?t in a position to turn them away.

Evil pay back time mate...........
judging by the tossers bit, i guess there is no love lost between the two of you., So why dont you order them a taxi at 4.30am on a saturday morning so when the first viewers arrive at 9.30 they look like sh*T, are grumpy & short tempered. Or make an appontment for Rentokil to call when they have a viewing

After all, alls fair in love & war.......and if it aint.......cheat!

I am sure that you will get a sale though, after all you have whole of this forum praying for you, and the whole of this forum casting voo-doo type spells on the evil neighbour threat!

Best of British Mate!

W4nkers, that's bang out of order that. Obviously not on our forum bet I could guess where they've gleaned there info from.

I'm with Nick, time for a war!!!

Just wait til they sell you'll sell yours soon after, one low priced house won't succeeed in draggin whole market down. Maybe it's a hole inside tho, you never know. What does your agent reckon?

Sorry, but I can't blaim them. Firstly you don't know what condition the interior is in, there could also be other factors for the property reducing it value.
It also be that their timescale has quickened and they really need a quick sale.

Also, when making such an important step as selling your house, you can't afford altruism too much.

It is a bummer.
When we bought ours, we paid 147K, then found out one that was the ssame but with an extended kitchen and conservatory sold a couple of months later for 127K we felt gutted, however 18 months later we have accepted an offer of 147K. So there obviously were serious differences between the properties and we had not paid over the odds.

Everyone who has heard the tale has agreed that it is a dirty trick to pull on someone.

Something weird happened though..
The sign went up outside their house.. and nothing else happened..
it wasn't in the paper. and never appeared on the website..
Then magically it has appeared overnight and the price has gone up by 7 grand and they are now wanting offers over 115 grand..

Maybe they do have a concience after all.

Sounds better. It is sneaky, if the market dictates there house should be worth more.
Jeez a 3 bed detached is still abput the same price as my 2 bed semi tho lol.

Sorry Natty that you feel that they have done this to you deliberately, but, I have to say that I would do what was best for me and my family in this situation. Whilst I would sympathise with them, I still wouldn't risk my own future for the sake of a neighbour that I am only amicable with.

Mind you it looks like they were probably given bad advice to begin with and thought that yours was over priced.

People playing tricks like that can give away the advantage. If they were advertising for the same price as yours, meaning less than houses with the same extras (garage) then I would be thinking 'whats wrong with it?'. Especially if its an immaculate house, i'd be very concerned about what might be hidden behind the decor.

Anyway, I'll get a book on learning voodoo and cast some spells. Something will come right!
