Default More misery for the Steve!!!

Buggerbuggerbugger!!!
Once again the uk market ha thwarted our attempts to escape from it. House sale no 2 has fallen through, after the buyers couldn't get 100% mortgage they needed (had decision in principle but bank didn't offer then anything afterall). About a week before exchange.

I'm left ruing another mistake I've made in assuming Solicitor was no move no fee...now panicing cos I can't find anything saying so, so probably incurred another couple of hundred quid in fees, that we don't have.

At least house is back on market at the right time of year but, it's been a hammer blow. Absolutely gutted!!
It's like being in a goldfish bowl, you can see everything around you but somehow can't seem to get anywhere near it. Dreams hopes and ambitions lie parylised at the back of your mind unable to be fulfilled. Our lives are so stagnant until we can sell our house, seems like we're living day to day, exhuasted by the excitement and dissapointment experienced the last few months!!!

GRRRRRRRSCREEEAMM*@@*?$%JHDH@K*)(!

NZ is gonna be sooooo sweet when we finally get there. Destiny has an annoying habit of REALLY PISSING ME OFF :icon_evil:

Cor blimey Mr C. Things surely do have a habit of creeping up and giving you a swift kick in the you-know-what.

Perhaps we should all ship in a few quid to buy your house :icon_biggrin:

We might be having a little trouble too :icon_confused:

It seems that our "cash buyers" do in fact need a mortgage. They were turned down by the Abbey due to the man having his identity "stolen" and someone running up hugh debts. It seems that they are now going thru a mortgage broker..............................

They had made the offer on the 28th Nov, but it seems that they still have not had any searches done either, even though we were told in Dec that they were applied for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Waiting for a phone call on Monday to see wether to put the house back on the market.

Stevey, i do empathise :icon_cry:

I've heard so many dreadful stories about house selling in the UK, it's unbelievable. You certainly aren't alone in this. It seems to be a complete minefield and my sympathy goes out to both Stevey and Skybluearmy. I wish I could say something to make you feel better, but know it's only the sale of your houses that'll do that. The only thought to hang onto is that, when you come to buy another place in NZ, the process should, hopefully, be a lot simpler and stress-free.

Good luck to you both.

Hi Stevey,

So sorry to hear more probs for the sale. Have you tried having an open day as lots of people there at once may prompt an offer as they can see they have competition. Also, have you condidered an auction. Not sure how these work, guess you can put a reserve on the house so you don't have to sell if offer not high enough.

Good luck to all those selling. We had horrible time buying: mortgage broker forged our signatures on some documnets, then lender turned us down coz some info was missing and then vendor died, then found house needed loads of structual work and couldn't get a reduction and unfortunately we became one of those people that pulled out but I guess we should have taken notice of the signs early on. Needless to sa we have now decided not to buy here and try to move to NZ straght away instead.

Anyway, didn't mean to ramble.

Good luck. :icon_wink:

We are in the same club also ... house unsold now after 8 months on the market. :icon_frown: When it first went on, we had two parties desparate to buy it - they went around the house several times, measuring up, etc. Our agent told them to put in their best offer by a certain date and what happened? Both went away.

My sister has had her house on the market for over a year ... she even found new homes for her two dogs as it was advised that their urine was making the small garden smell unpleasant for viewers. :icon_eek:

There is something to be said for having the freedom rentals give. Houses are starting to take longer to sell here now. :icon_rolleyes:

Well we're all in a bit of a pickle, it sounds harsh as I would never wish ill fortune on anyone, but it does make me feel better knowing that others on the forum are in the same boat. Tells me that it is just the current market conditions rather than just bad luck or 'destiny' saying that the mve is not right.

At least the market is picking up this year (allegedly) with house prices expected to rise. It's the right time of year and we're still getting viewers, we just need the right one to come offering the right money. Good luck to all of us I guess. WE CAN DO IT PEEPS!!
