Great news! Looks promising, Driver. Fingers crossed for you. Wish Stevey could have a bit of good luck, too.

Not treading on my post mate, was just updating people. It's general post about a general problem in the UK many of us are experiencing, post away it may give some hope to others in similar predcament.

We're having no luck at all. Had another offer 5k below price, now considering raising price so that when Buy to Letters try and screw me, I've already pre-empted them in my asking.

Had a full asking price offer, but they need to sell (no offers yet) first so no different to us really, other than to say we know the house is desireable and we're asking the right kind of money to genuine home buyers. Hang on in there but it's stressing us out lots.

have you tried www.houseladder.co.uk steve, we have just accepted an offer on the place only 2 K below the asking an no estate agents to pay. Well at least they won't be paid, though at the moment they are trying to make out they they introduced these people to us (impressive as they don't even know their names). There is a small chain, but we are not in a hurry.

you have two options ?50 for a month or ?100 for the full year. We just paid the ?50. We only got 2 leads in 2 weeks, but I have noticed more houseladder boards going up around in this area, so I think that it is definitely taking off. The person who recommended the site to me sold theirs in under a month. The advantage is that you can take a lower offer as you don't have to pay estate agents.

However check your current agreement with your estate agency, if they have sole selling rights they may still want paying. So end your contract with them first.

Erm we are in a bit sticky over that, however we can get round it as long as we don't exchange contracts for 3 1/2 months, which is fine as it probably will take that long anyway and (sorry Steve to rub it in) we are not in a hurry just yet as we still haven't heard about PR (fingers crossed according to the website they dealt with apps up til 7th Nov last week, so the 8th should be this week)

I like it! They do like to try it on, don't they? [smilie=haha.gif]

Stevey, Spring is around the corner. Let's hope that'll bring 'em out in droves and things will get moving.

To quote them "you have used [b:42d555b4c1]our[/b:42d555b4c1] advertising to sell your house."
Erm no we havent cos other than a for sale board stool there for 3 days out of view from the main road, down a dead end street, you haven't advertised it yet. Oh and the prospective buyers are not from the immediate area.

Oh no!!! We've whacked 20000 off our house over the last 12 months.......and accepted an offer 5000 below the new price! Survey was done Mon and I've told hubby that if anything is wrong.........they're getting a bargain anyway and we are not losing any more money!!!!!

I was banking on hubby joining us in a couple of months...........but now I've read your tales of doom and gloom, I may have to look for a new one to enjoy my new life with while I wait..............it could be years at this rate!!!!

sorry to scare you fisheress, and all the best of luck.
Not every sale can go wrong or there wouldn't be so many people on here who have made it to the other side.
I was so sure that our sale was watertight and still can't believe they could have been so mean to leave it so late and 3months wasted too.
I've read so many tales of woe on these sites. I just wish something could be done in this country to stop it. We thought obtaining the visa was tough, ha that was nothing! But stick with it, we are all here for support and won't it be sweet to finally get to New Zealand?
Don't worry about it there is no point, if it is going to happen it will and if not then you would have worried for nothing. :icon_wink:
