Default Hi from NZ

Hello everyone! We arrived in NZ on Thursday afternoon and are staying at my brothers in Mount Albert, Auckland. Already I have found a rental house (get keys on Friday), been on my new school's Xmas Do and had a meeting at work too!!! Not bad for 4 days on the other side of the world!

The journey was okay, but the 4 stops (dubai for 5 hours) were a bit of a killer. By Brisbane tempers were beginning to fray, but we made it. Hubby is flying back to sell the house on 27th Jan.....so we intend to have lots of fun until then. The weather has been very wet in general but yesterday we had a taste of summer and played out on the beach at Browns Bay.

The kids are in their element and are looking forward to settling into their new house soon.

Merry Christmas to you all (although it feels like the July hols!). I'll be in touch with another update soon

Fisheress

Hey fisheress,

Welcome to New Zealand - glad you all made in one piece, albeit with tempers a little frazzled!

Take the time to relax and enjoy your new homeland now, until you have to get down to the nitty-gritty of work, etc. Sounds like you've had a hectic first few days, don't know how you managed to cope with that AND the jetlag, you social butterfly you........... :icon_mrgreen:

I think the weathers been a bit cr*p all over NZ on and off, but apparently this is normal at this time of year, and it will improve for January (I am reliably informed :icon_wink: ).

Congrats anyway and all the best to you and your family for your new life - here's to many more adventures! :icon_biggrin:

So, I haven't missed too much then :icon_biggrin: . It's saving itself for when I get down there. Watch out, Fisheress, it'll be scorching from the 5th Jan. onwards. Very pleased to hear you've all made it in one piece. Once you've settled into your own home, you'll soon feel like you've been there forever. I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time and NZ will be everything you hoped for. Good luck down under!

HURRAH!!!! That does sound stpidly busy for 4 days plus jet lag. Fair play, I would imagine the excitement fo the whole think will get adenaline buzzing, making it easier to cope.

Can't wait to look for houses again, I love all that moving stuff, apart from the actual moving day. However with no stuff, it should be great fun as we get to shop for our house also rather than lug furniture in and out of vans. :icon_biggrin: Can't wait.

Anyway DO keep us informed you know we love adventures on this forum.

Good luck with the next few weeks.

Default Hi from NZ

Good to have a steady stream of movers on the forum. Nattydread, Skybluearmy, Macfod and Selchie are due to go next year as well, to name but a few. And, of course, we have those who are desperately aspiring to go, eh, Stevey? Let's hope 2006 is your year.
