UK/US Differences: Live! Rude! Girl! on the London Bombings

I just read this column in the SF Chronicle. Neva Chonin's observations on the US's perplexity over the UK's response to the bombings is great!

I haven't had sufficient words to say how dismayed I am that London had to endure another attack. Please know that my thoughts are with you.

I'm not sure I should be smiling, but it's all true. An amusing comparison. I think it's the best possible response we've given as the british public. It's been.....well british!! Good O! Still rather be in NZ tho.

Just leave it to we Americans to make it all about us. OK, so its a big chunk of the government and media, but they sure make it look like all of us are behaving badly.

I admire the British attitude, though I wish y'all didn't have to be so accustomed to that sort of violence.
