ah well, I guess you guys will just never know how good some American traditions can be.

I had to miss our town's fireworks display last night. :P (it's for Independence Day) for like the last 3 years they've gotten rained out. you'd think they'd take the hint and not do it 4 freakin days before the actual celebration day!

Your town does fireworks on June 30? Strange.

yes our town does fireworks way before the 4th. I guess b/c most ppl have bbqs and cookouts and such on the actual 4th. Plus, who wants to give up their one day off of work to go sit in a hot field and listen to some dumb band? :108:

Nicely moderated Taffy, you're back on track now. The thing is, I read all the posts anyway, so it actually doesn't matter to me. But it is nice for others who join the site to get straight to the meat of the subject. :icon_eek: icon_exclaim.gif

I was rather hoping that fireworks wern't part of Kiwi life. I hate the damned things and wish they would be banned. You always read in the news around bonfire night about the little scrotes that stich fireworks up cats bums or tie them to dogs faces, or chuck em through old ladies letterboxes.
I will never forget sitting next to my best mate at school when someone chucked one through the window and it went off in her face. Not nice :icon_sad:

it's not the firewroks that's the problem mate,

it's the scrotes you so eloquently mentioned.
That's one of the reasons I'm heading off..

If it wasn't fireworks it would be something else...

It's a good kick in the arse they need the lot of them..(Hope your friend was okay.. sounds terrible...)
