I dont think thats really true, netchicken. Fair enough, if you go to any of the shopping malls, you see the same big brands like you said, but they are the only companies that can afford to be there!

Where I am, there is such a high percentage of small business ownership that the variety of shops is huge! Much more variety than back in the UK, where the small business owner has little or no chance of survival in the high street anymore.

Where are you from originally netchicken? or are you pure kiwi?

Default hi

Milliemoo said it :icon_biggrin: Taffy, that was inspirational. I just did a quick check and my cereal at prices here would cost me $7.06. :icon_cry: I do think people from the UK are at a disadvantage as food really is cheap there. I used to get my shopping for less than ?50 in London and now I'm lucky if I can get by on ?150 per week for TWO of us. That's $272.37 at today's rates! That's the Euro for you.

Hi,

As everyone on this post seems to be the equivalent of "Train Spotters" I thought I would set only the most committed a task....

Price please on Bunk Beds (singles) either wooden or metal tubular???

The first one back with a price wins a pineapple cube!!! :icon_wink:

Only joking = but at the same time serious....

We need to get a price for bunks as we are renting a house in Jan and the owners have offered to buy and assemble the bunks for us, however, they need our budget and I have no idea. :icon_confused:

I am going to do some web surfing for prices now but if any of you already in NZ happens to see some kiddies bunks (to suit teenagers) I would be grateful if you could pass on where and at what price.

Many thanks,
Cal :icon_mrgreen: (addicted to smilies)

We tend to do our bulk shopping in PaknSave and sometimes pick up salmon and meat there if it's on a special. I hate lugging the trollies around there though, would love it if they had some smaller ones. I agree, not so good for frozen stuff - tend to use Foodtown more for that.

Usually use the Madbutcher and the local fruit and veg shops for most other things, they quite often have specials so I freeze quite a lot of stuff.

We've just bought a juicer and get through so much fruit and veg we need a small lifestyle section :icon_lol:
