Default The 'old' Introduce yourself!

Well, things aren't amazing on the jobs front, although a very very helpful agency, ITmaniacs (http://www.itmaniacs.co.nz), has given me CV advice and is beavering away over there finding something for me! Just have to let them know some kind of definite date of moving before they can line anything up.

House is up for sale so guess its just a waiting game now! To speed it all up I expect we will get a working holiday visa to get started and then apply for a work permit or residency when we get there.

Hi Taffy
That all sounds very promising, If you are under 30 that is the best way to go. For me half the battle is i am older than 30 and not able to get work permit with out a job offer. It is really only govt organisations that are really up for going that route smaller organisations can't be bothered with the whole process.
Do you have recognised qualifications, and have you got them assessed?
Do you know what area you are aiming to settle in?
speak soon
Jackie

Hi mellibean,
Yes, you will indeed need a visitors permit. You can get one by applying online at the immigration website:

http://www.immigration.govt.nz

You can also download the holiday visa application form if you dont wish to apply on line.

All the best

No, coming from USA, you will need a visitors visa for sure. The only countries in the 'visa free' zones are Australia and UK.

You can either get a visitors visa (for going on holiday) or you can get a working holiday visa, which entitles you to be able to work while on holiday.
