My husband and I are wanting to relocate to New Zealand with our 2 daughters ages 6 and 1.

My husband has a degree in Leisure Management and a Masters in Tourism and Leisure. He has also worked part time as a college lecturer.

We are hoping to get in on skilled migrant OSL. Our only problem that we can see is that I suffer from Epilepsy and under active thyroid, both are well controlled but the decision apparently falls in the hands of the NZ doctors.

If we get turned down for PR then we are going anyway next June on a holiday visa and I will have my medicals there face to face with the NZ doctor.

We are so desperate to get out of the UK, both myself and my hubby feel as though we still haven't settled here and this is meant to be our home!

Hi, my name is Sharon. I am a few days away from sending off my application for residency! Just waiting for the medical reports. I am hoping to move to NZ with my two sons age, 14 and 2 years. I have a PhD in tropical medicine and work as a molecular microbiologist. I have wanted to leave the UK for years now but I have never been to NZ. I do have my doubts of course.............it is a major thing to do as a single parent but I am up for the challenge!! So fingers crossed :icon_wink:

I've been a furtive browser of this site for some time ::):
We have PR and are now deciding what to do next! House is on the market, but is not selling.
Every month or so we go to a meeting of like-minded New Zealand hopefuls to exchange ideas and make new friends & contacts. If it's OK I'd like to advertise the next meeting (in July) on this site.

What do you think of New Zealand then? We (Taffy and I) have also been in NZ for about 7 months - we started off in Tauranga (NI) and moved down to Hamilton in February - best move we ever made!

Lots of people come on here looking for advice and experiences from the SI, so I'm sure your input will be welcome :icon_biggrin:
