And still loving it.
Maybe even more now
Which is scary as still not got pr as yet,but hey,im still gonna enjoy life to the full in this place.
I am now in a job,which i am thoroughly enjoying.Support Worker.
I have passed the written part of the qual,so now onto the competency part, and then i get the full qual, which i am hoping will gain us pr.
I only have 3 clients so far,but the busy season is approaching so should get loads more work, mainly releif, but it all helps towards xmas.
We have moved to a bigger rental. 4 bedrooms and 30 bucks a week cheaper.
We have ocean views from side living room window,a balcony at front overlooking port hills and ocean
And can see the snow peaked Alps from my bedroom window.
Now how could you be unhappy?
And most certainly wouldnt get all that in Glasgow, thats for sure.
My daughter Nicole is happier here, she has the bottom part of the house to herself, and shes got the cute wee sunroom as her bedroom.
She is lined up for Hagley College in feb, which she is nervous about, but i know she will be fine.
She is enjoying her wee strolls along the beach, and still keeps constant contact with the b/f back in Glasgow. That poor wee soul is trying really hard to get a job to raise money to come back over,he had hoped jan,but looks more like easter now. Hes a really nice wee guy,and he loved his time over here
Wee Colin is loving it at school, loads wee mates, actually he is going straight to his pals house from school. The school he is at is fantastic.
Colin Sr is still working away at alu joiner. He gets on well with all the guys. And the tan he is getting
So my son and my parents will be arriving here in 6 wks, which i am so excited about
My son is really thinking about moving here too,as no g/f now,and he is getting sick of his job in Glasgow.
Id rather he finished his college course there first though, but im well chuffed that he is considering the move now.
My poor wee ma will be heartbroken if he moves here too,but im sure after she visits she will know that this is definetly a much safer environment, and will put her at ease
And im hoping they have a good flight,so she will come back again,as she is getting nervous now about the whole flying thing.
Looking forward to experiencing our first Halloween, our first Guy Fawkes and epecially our first Christmas here. Even though i still cannot imagine xmas in the sun,and having salad and barbq ,but we are all up for having a good time,no matter what,or how different it sounds
Its great to read through the blogs of the folks who have made the move, and all the similar expereinces, and i hope the blogs do help the folk who are considering the move
My mum said she wont know me now,due to all the things i get up to here, like recycling everything, dont waste nothing, and doing the job i do,baking, cycling
But i reassured her the old me is still in here, with the glass of vodka in hand, just lemonade in it now instead of irn bru as woolys has stopped ordering it in,buggers
And they sell her whiskey here,so we are both looking forward to getting back to our wee nights, sitting yapping away to the wee hours, and im gonna teach her how to economise and bake banana bread
Well thats all folks
Maybe even more now

Yes, we're thinking of moving on as Oman is becoming too difficult in many ways. Hubster is in for a few jobs, one in Qatar but that is single status, one in Kuwait (it would be great to go back there again) and now today one in Egypt although I'm not too enthusiastic about that. We had a great holiday there once, but I'm not sure I'd want to live there. Our main concern is that we get into a country that is a member of the Pet Passport scheme, which means that our cats will only have to do a month's quarantine in Auckland instead of an extra, horribly expensive and stressful, 6 months in somewhere like Dubai.
The reason I'm on my own at the moment is because hubster has had to go into the interior (desert) to site for a few days. Another lost weekend

Your blog brought a smile to my face Meadow. I smiled thinking of you and your ma and felt just a little envious that you will get to embrace her soon! My mum had to cancel her Christmas visit because she needed a knee replacement so she can't fly until March 09. She'll be here soon enough
There's that Glasgow warmth in your words buddy, makes me feel like I'm toasting my toes in front of a blazing fire whilst I'm reading it
So, so pleased that all is going well for you and I'm absolutely sure that your family will only see a more confident, more comfortable, more honest and beautiful you. You are living your truth and that is truly inspirational.
