I'm getting tired of waiting

Posted 16-04-2008 at 02:45 AM by Ginabridget
I've been waiting for a week and a half for the survey to be sent out to our buyers, you'd think that I'd be used to waiting by now after having spent 12 months to get a buyer.

We're still in half term holidays so I've got two pre-schoolers lurking round my legs trying to trip me up everytime I try to move. We've been to the park and the library today, going to have to find another activity to wear them out tomorrow so that I can get a bit of peace and quiet.

We've had a few family parties this month for various reasons and it seems that half of my hubsters family didn't really believe that we would go through with moving to NZ, when we're talking to them about selling the house and booking flights, etc, they're comment is 'so you're actually going to go then?'. I feel like saying 'nah actually we just like the feeling of immense stress, it's great fun!'

In the meantime I'm spending far too much time on this forum, just waiting for new posts to appear so I can nosey at what everyone else is doing. I think I'm going to have to delve further into this Facebook lark that everyone is talking about, another thing I can waste time on when I should be off doing earth-motherly type things.

Good thing that happened today was that when we were at the library I bumped into another mother that has kids at the same nursery as my little girl, she has been struggling to keep her kids entertained over half term and is counting down the hours until nursery starts again. I'm amazed at how much relief 2 1/2 hours of nursery a day can bring, and very pleased to find that I'm not the only one that feels that way.

Right I'm going to stretch my grey-matter and partake in some colouring in

At least you have had your survey - apparently our buyer has paid for one but they have not yet been in touch to arrange it. Grrrrr . At least I have no ankle biters to annoy me - just moody teenagers

Hope they get a move on soon, GB. It's stressful waiting, but I guess, as long as the survey is OK, you'd hope that everything will eventually be fine.

If you join up with Facebook that'll be you sorted. Quite a few of us partake in various games together, like Scrabulous, Scramble and many more, which helps to bond us as friends. If we can't yet meet up in real life, this is a good way of keeping in touch away from the forum. I'm sure a lot of us devote a lot more time to Facebook than we really should. Hurray!

There is a MTNZ group on Facebook but we don't do much on there because we're too busy doing it elsewhere.

You have my sympathies - there is nothing worse than waiting, especially if you are as impatient as I am!

I love the comments about "you're really going then?". People seem soo surprised to hear us talk about our plans, depsite us telling them a year ago that we;d started applying for the Visas. "Yep, still going for it ... " seems to be all I can muster as a response though.

Have fun colouring ... Lou

'Partake in some colouring' Ah, the joys of being a mum to youngsters

Hope your waiting doesn't last too much longer anyway - you'll be here before you know it

Hi there,i remember writing a very similar blog on my space last october.
The wait was dreadful.Seems that long ago now though
And even my mum right up until we moved in with her after house sold still half expected that im gonna say,ive changed my mind.
I remember my mum saying that my dad eventually said,my god they are serious about this. lol
Id only been saying it and planning for a year
I had like yourself been on various forums and myspace etc every day.
Great thing is you think you know quite a lot about N.Z and what to expect, but every day im finding things and foods etc i didnt know about.
No regrets whatsover, though sometimes i still get a surprise when i realise what we done, and cant really beleive im here now,so no wonder family couldnt take it in. lol
All the best
